Master Athlete Competition Clarification |
Dear Master Athletes,
Athletic Leinster would like to clarify a note in the Indoor Booklet which has caused to some confusion.
"AN EVENT WHICH HAS LESS THAN 3 COMPETITORS WILL NOT BE HELD ",
It is not the intention of Athletics Leinster to have registered athletes travel to competition and to send home due to insufficient quantities in a particular category. To encourage healthy competition, it was proposed to 'where quantities are particularly small in a category, i.e. less than 3, to merge that category with another category', the step-down rule. Each and every athlete who attends the Indoors to compete in a specific discipline will be fully accommodated.
Apologies for the confusion, as a result, should any athlete, including Guest athletes, have any issues submitting timely entries to Navan, entries will be taken over the phone, and fees can be paid on the day. Please do not hesitate to contact to Pat Carty, Indoor Sec. 087 653 8501.

Once again the Leinster Star Awards were hosted in the Seven Oak Hotel, Carlow. Our thanks to the management and staff for a great evening. Photos of the presentations are here.
On behalf of Athletics Leinster I would like to thank everyone who helped out and supported this year's Leinster Star Awards. I hope you all enjoyed the night and that we will see you back again next year.

Bohermeen AC Road Races 2012 |

Starting with the Meath spring half marathon on March 4th with an entry fee of €20, Bohermeen AC is presenting a series of road races this year. If you wish to enter all three in the series you can do so for the reduced fee of €50! Details on flyer here |

Indoor Programme 2012 published |
The Indoor Programme for Nenagh, 2012 has been re-published (10th January) with several amendments including Sen/Master Weight for Distance. Key dates are 29th January (entries to Leinster by 13th Jan) and 18th/19th February (entries by 3rd Feb).

Hope and Dream 10 Charity Race 1st April |
|
Please see the attached links for details of the Hope & Dream 10, which is a Charity run being held in Enniscorthy on Sunday the 1st of April 2012.
The organisers are aiming to host the biggest race event in Co. Wexford in 2012 and raise in excess of €100,000 for two charities whose causes are dear to the hearts of many in the County.
The Hope and Dream 10 is a 10 mile road race, with proceeds split equally between the Hope Cancer Support Centre, Enniscorthy and Share a Dream Foundation, an organisation which makes dreams come true for sick and terminally ill children.
